Training and Support(posted yesterday, didnt show up)

It is very evident that communication is key for the survival of any firm in any industry or business. The importance of every individual is vital, and without a strong communication chain there is no chance for survival. Training and support of the individuals, thus, is key to success of each and every individual. In essence, individuals must have the tools necessary to be successful.Training is the first area of interest within the confines of this discussion. People must have adequate knowledge of their particular position in order to fully meet the needs of that position. I worked as a sales representative in a hospital, and in order to communicate effectively with my co-workers, and the people whom I was trying to sell products and services, I had to have an extensive knowledge of the products and services, and have the capabilities to sell them. Knowing the products aided me in both selling the products, and getting the right products to the right people. Also, the education I received in training allowed me to counter certain problems more effectively, thus, allowing me to be more proactive and ready for these problems, alas getting me the trust of my peers. Training in essence is the foundation of communication within a firm. Without the knowledge of the business, and knowledge of the position with which he/she is doing business, a person cannot succeed. So training this person effectively can allow this person do demonstrate success, and be able to successfully communicate to other people internally and externally.Support is the other dimension of discussion. Support from everyone is essential for good communication. The term, "Don't shoot the messenger of the message," means that an open-door policy must be evident and must be in support for each and every individual. Each individual must have a voice within the organization, and the frim can support this by allowing free communication up and down the structure, have the physical facilities to do so, and also the individuals must have allowed to them any information that he/she may need. With my old position, I wasn't afforded the knowledge I needed. Many times, I wasn't sure which products would reach me at what time, and also, corporate office did not seem to have any time to hear the employees "gripes". This is very bad business, and thus, within this particular firm we lost our business that I was apart of because the employees lacked good channels of communication both with the corporate office, adn products were not reaching us when they should have. The support for individuals must be in place for communication to take place, because employees must be "empowered" to make choices, and without the support of vital information, a voice within the company, the physical needs to succeed, and an open door policy, a firm cannot be successful. It is very evident from this discussion that training and support is essential for communication to exist. First, an individual must know his/her industry, and this information must be given by the firm. Suitable training and education so that a person knows his/her industry, and thus allows them to communicate with internal and external patrons, makes an individual and firm very successful. Support of this training, with sufficient information at the individuals disposal, the physical necessities to do their job, open channels of communication, and time on the clock to voice their opinion. Without training and support, the foundation of the firm's communication, a firm cannot be successful.
